From the Gorges du Verdon and beyond
If you love sport, the area around the River Verdon is one of the most varied and magnificent playgrounds in this region of France. Whatever the feeling, you can feel it!
Fancy a spot of adrenaline and bungee jumping? Take a bridge 180 m above the river (the Pont de Chaulière, commonly called the Artuby), a unique 107 m arch, a suitably short elastic rope and, naturally, a secure environment made safe by experienced professionals, and you have everything you need for a couple of minutes really feeling the air.
If you love climbing, the Gorges du Verdon is home to some routes tackled by climbers the world over. There’s something for all levels, and a well-earned break every now and then will treat you to some breathtaking views.
There’s also plenty of fun splishing and splashing to be done with rafting, canyoning and open-water swimming, which the whole family can enjoy with the right safety conditions. It’s a great way of exploring the area and getting a feel of it from head to toe. Canoeing is a great means of enjoying the calmer side of the Verdon, with an eye towards the fauna existing just above the surface or the cliff walls with many a story to tell. You can also appreciate these facets by pedalo, electric boat or hiking.
